The few things that still open over the editor.
DMX universes
#The patch as it goes out: a grid of the 512 addresses in a universe, one color per fixture, overlaps striped.
Universes
- Opening
- From the Lights list or the palette. The DMX button under the Lights list opens it on Bridge.
- Live
- The live level of every fixture and the Art-Net nodes on the network. A light reads off the wire as a fixture once it is patched on a universe.
- Auto-patch
- Gives consecutive addresses and skips location lights with DMX off. Set modes in Selection's DMX section, and arm the output under Bridge.
- Merging
- Incoming levels merge highest takes precedence, motor and function channels included. Give each universe of moving lights one controller.
- Send patch
- Redraws every patched light now, without waiting for the next change.
- Numbering
- The universe numbering is saved with the project and shared with everyone in it.
Bridge
- Status
- The Art-Net status, pairing, blackout, grandmaster, transmit and the universe offset.
- Pairing
- The agent prints a code, eight letters and digits as XXXX-XXXX, good for ten minutes, and opens the site, where you approve it. Only an editor or the owner can attach a bridge.
- Approving
- Attaches the agent's machine to this project until its credentials expire. The agent picks them up within seconds.
- The agent
- Installs nothing, and Ctrl-C stops it. A restart keeps the flags it was started with (--universes, --no-sacn).
- Executable
- One file with Node inside, and deleting it uninstalls it. Windows warns about it because it is unsigned, so check the download against the sha256 shown.
- macOS
- There is no macOS executable, since an unsigned one will not open there.
- Script token
- For a machine that cannot answer a prompt: this project at your access, for 12 hours. It works with the executable too, in place of --pair.
- Output off
- The server disallows output, or the agent was started with --no-output. Take --no-output out only if you know the server, not the agent, refused output.
- Announcing the makers
- Ticked, the bridge and its lights announce their makers' ids, so ARRI Stellar lists them and RDM auto-patch matches the makers' profiles.
- Announcing Precollab
- Unticked, they introduce themselves as Precollab, still named for what they simulate, and are patched by hand. Stellar will not list them.
- On the network
- Either way, anything on that network can rename a light or move its address.
Profiles
- GDTF
- The uploaded profiles. Catalog fixtures come with built-in personalities. GDTF files come from the maker or gdtf-share.com, and an MVR export bundles the uploaded ones.
